Learning About Grace

Welcome! We’re glad you’re here. If you came searching for peace, you can find it. If you’re looking for purpose, it’s waiting for you. Redemption, hope, love… nothing has been left out. It’s time to begin the life you were born to live. Are you ready? Here’s what you need to know: you were made for more. That’s not a mantra, or simply a trendy new saying to retweet; it’s the truth.

A long time ago, a man and woman messed up when they decided to disobey God. That choice has affected us all, but it doesn’t have to define us. You can experience a new, better way of living, but that also requires a choice – one that only you can make. Before we get ahead of ourselves, there are some things you should know:

1. God Loves You
That’s right. You are loved. That may be hard to accept for a number of reasons. It’s possible that you’ve never felt loved, have experienced abuse, or maybe you’ve hurt others over and over again. While this (and even more) might be true of your life, it doesn’t change how God feels about you. In fact, the bad news is that you may be even worse off than you think. However, the good news is that He is far better than you can imagine.

2. Sin Separates You
Unfortunately, the decision made by Adam and Eve didn’t end in the Garden of Eden. The choice to disobey God, commonly called “sin,” drove a wedge between God and man that has been in place ever since. Sin was never part of God’s plan for you and me. It’s been a destructive, devastating force throughout human history causing all of the problems we face today. But, there’s hope! God may not have caused the sin problem, but He knew exactly how to fix it.

3. Jesus Saves You
It’s possible that you’ve already heard the expression “Jesus saves” and wondered what it meant. You should know that there’s nothing more important or true. God saw sin and knew that He couldn’t be with the ones He created and loved as long as it ruled their hearts. That’s when He decided to send His only Son into the world to pay a debt that you and I could never afford. Jesus died on the cross and rose again so that we could have a relationship with the Father. “God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.” (2 Corinthians 5:21)

You’ve read the facts and now it’s time to make a decision. You may be feeling strong emotions about this choice, but don’t let that talk you out of making a fresh start.

Maybe you’ve had a difficult childhood, filled with fear and torment. Peace is something you’ve chased your entire life, but you’ve never been able to catch up to it. He is the answer.

“My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” (John 14:27)

Maybe you’ve made a mess of your life, or even made a mess for someone else. Going your own way hasn’t worked out and you ended up hurting yourself and others. He is the answer.

“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10)

Maybe you’re reading this because you’re angry at God. After all, you think He’s judgmental and impossible to please; or that His love only extends to those who follow the set list of do’s and don’ts. He not only has the answer, He is the answer.

“For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” (John 3:17)

Whatever your reasons, doubts, or questions might be, He understands. Your choices and circumstances may have separated you from Him, but He made a way to bring you back. His offer is not only about saving you. It’s about healing, restoring, and releasing you to become all you were created to be. It’s an opportunity to live the life you were designed to live, and it can begin today.

This gift is free and it’s yours for the taking. You can’t be good enough, smart enough, strong enough, or any other “enough” that may come to mind. Just say the words below and mean them in your heart.

Jesus, I believe that You are the Son of God. I believe that You died on the cross for my sins and rose from the grave. I invite You into my heart today. Thank You for forgiving me. Help me to live for you. Amen!

So, what now? You’ve accepted God’s gift of salvation, but you’re not sure what to do next. These important steps will help:

“For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.” (Romans 10:10)

2. Read The Bible
It’s hard to embark on any new adventure without a map. The Bible is not only an amazing way to figure out where you’re going in life, but it also helps you makes sense of where you’ve been. Plus, it provides strength, wisdom and knowledge for the road ahead.

“Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.” (Joshua 1:8)

3. Find A Church
Living the Christian life can be challenging. There could be people in your life who may not understand the choice you’ve made and don’t support your decision to follow Christ. That why it’s critical to find a solid, Bible-believing church where you can hear encouraging messages and meet others who are on the same path.

“He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with Him. Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” (1 Thessalonians 5:10-11)

4. Watch Christian Television
We are so excited for you! Today marks the birth of something beautiful. In fact, it’s a spiritual birth that extends beyond your life here and now. It’s forever.
